What a LiDAR 3D scanner captures in a room
The scanner is designed to capture structure such as walls, doors, windows, and measured dimensions. You can review and edit the plan after the walk-through.
LiDAR scanner app versus measuring by hand
Scanning is faster in an empty or simply furnished room. A tape measure is still wise for construction-critical lengths. Lighting, clutter, and reflective surfaces can affect a scan.
LiDAR is not required for every feature
3D room scanning needs LiDAR. Manual planning, 3D viewing, AI redesign, and project tools can still be used on supported devices without the sensor.
