Scanning is closer to a careful walk than to a panorama photo. You are teaching the app where the walls are.
Before you scan a room with iPhone
Open curtains if the room is dark, move what you can from the walls, and give yourself a clear path. You need a LiDAR-equipped Pro iPhone or iPad for 3D room scanning.
During a LiDAR room scan
Move slowly enough that openings stay visible. Afterward, edit anything that looks wrong and measure again if a dimension will be used to buy materials.
